Mill Creek

This article is one in a series of articles about our recent tour of California Wine Country. You can read about Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, the Summary, the Winery Dogs and the Restaurants as well.

Mill Creek is a small family run vineyard and winery founded in 1965.  Seven members of the family work at the vineyard, though while we were tasting there was a member of the next generation crying in the back room.  The tasting room is located in a picturesque  former mill building next to the mill pond that gives the winery its name.  Most of the wines come from grapes grown on the estate.

Wines sampled:
2007 Santa Rosa, a dry Rose
2007 Estate Gewurtztraminer
2005 Estate Merlot
2006 Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel
2005 Corner Pocket Syrah (from grapes grown in a corner of the estate)
2005 Cabernet Sauvignon
