Dutcher Crossing Winery

This article is one in a series of articles about our recent tour of California Wine Country. You can read about Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, the Summary, the Winery Dogs and the Restaurants as well.

On the second day of touring the Dry Creek region of Sonoma County, we visited Dutcher Crossing Winery.

Dutcher Crossing is located right on Dry Creek Road.  The tasting room is in a modern wooden building that blends nicely into the surrounding vineyards.  There are some very nice picnic grounds.  They specialize in small-lot quality wines from select vineyards.  We particularly liked their Chardonnay and Maple Vineyard Zinfandel, though all the wines were good.  The person conducting the tasting was also free with recommendations of restaurants and other wineries to visit.
